Alex Riseley - T.V Review – Britain’s Got Talent

The grand final of Britain’s Got Talent was held on 30th May 2009 with millions of viewers watching. There had been many shows in the lead up to this final – several auditions and five semi-finals to determine the acts in with a chance of winning. There were ten acts in the final which were mostly made up of singers and dancers. They were Diversity, Flawless, Shaun Smith, Susan Boyle, Holly Steel, Aiden Davis, Julian Smith, Stavros Flatly, Shaheen Jafagholi and 2 Grand. There were three judges that made dreams come true, they were Simon Cowell, Amanda Holdem and Piers Morgan.

The final was really entertaining and funny. Ant and Dec hosted all of the shows throughout the series providing plenty of jokes and humour along the way. I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the final result to be announced, who would win Susan Boyle or Diversity? The audience erupted when Ant and Dec announced the winner which was Diversity the dance group from Essex. Susan Boyle was second and Julian Smith, the saxophone player, came third. Diversity got the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Show and was rewarded with £100,000. I enjoyed the lead up to the final and especially the auditions which really made me laugh. I think Diversity deserved to win because of their phenomenal performance in the final.
